Located in the Tijuca National Park, the Pedra Bonita hiking trail was used by locals to reach their properties, where they grew flowers and food in the midst of the Atlantic Forest. But its historic use is not the only reason why it became famous: because the face that seems to be sculpted in Pedra da Gávea faces Bonita, local legends say that they are “looking” at each other. Folklore aside, Pedra Bonita offers one of the most fantastic scenery of the city (especially at sunset), with views to the beaches of São Conrado, Ipanema, Leblon and Barra da Tijuca, and it is also the main hang gliding and paragliding departure point.

Pedra Bonita offers an easy-level hike that can be done even by those who do not have experience. After hiking, we will make a stop at the departure ramp to enjoy the view. We will also get to know the history of the Tijuca National Park, where we might be greeted by animals of the Atlantic Forest.
